Washington Mutual Complaint - Gouging APR rate and only a computer can change it... No humans can change it
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- I have had WAMU credit card for 12 years. I have paid it off twice. I have good credit and never was late on a payment or nor with any other creditors. According to all 3 credit bureau reports, WAMU holds me in good standing.
When I asked for my APR% to be lowered from 23.99% to something that did not sound like "loan sharking". I was told by a supervisor, that "ONLY THE COMPUTER CAN CHANGE THE APR% rate.
That humans cannot go into the computer and make any changes to my account. That the APR%. is ALL controlled by their computer. That only the computers make the offers from time to time for a lower interest rate. And that I had to wait for my account to be a long time customer"
What 12 years is not long enough to be considered a long time customer? I must say, after 12 years with this horrid bank, I was dumb enough to use the card after I paid it off twice. And NEVER EVER was an offer made in 12 years to ever lower my rate. It just kept going up and up!
The supervisor, Bernard, refused my request and told me to have a nice day. I can only hope that CHASE is more reasonable with their consumers.
Does any one know how I can go about reducing my 23.99% interest rate with WAMU?
