Dish Network Complaint - Dish Network Billed Debit Card Without Permission!!
SOUTH DAKOTA -- My son notified Dish Network a month before he planned to move, and they advised that boxes for the receivers would be sent postage paid.
The boxes hadn't been received by the time he actually moved nearly a month later, so he took the receivers with him to his new home and followed up with a call to Dish Network who showed the boxes had been mailed out recently.
According to UPS the lady who moved INTO my son's old house signed for one box, and the other box was returned back to Dish Network.
After many long calls to Dish Network we tried to find a location we could drop the receivers off at we were advised that there weren't any! We would have to wait for them to resend the boxes! Their customer service was very poor, with no one really acting like they cared or even knew what should be done to help us to return the receivers.
We asked if there would be any charge to my son's account, since the delay in receiving the boxes was Dish Network's fault, and not due to any fault of our own. Dish Network's response was that if there was a bill to ignore it and any charges would be erased once the equipment was received. They would not agree to hold charges until the boxes were received and sent back.
The VERY next day after this call there were charges of hundreds of dollars made to my son's debit card without his knowledge! And the boxes STILL haven't been received! Dish Network made so many individual charges to his debit card that his bank contacted him about possible fraudulent charges and suggested that he close this account number! The charges totaled WAY more than the receivers could have possibly have been worth or their replacement cost.
Is there any recourse with Dish Network on something like this? When my son called them they were absolutely NO help whatsoever, and he just got madder and madder.
Any suggestions? Anyone else out there have a similar issue with Dish Network?
Needless to say... my son will NOT be getting their services at his new location!
