Electrolux Complaint - Disastrous Service
My initial engagement with Electrolux was not promising. The new refrigerator was delivered and installed on January 19. Two hours later it failed. Things improved with the service representative managed to convince the dealer to deliver a second one the next day. It worked fine until one week ago, December 30, when it failed again, within the warranty period.
After 1 1/2 hours on the phone I was promised the necessary parts sent "overnight." The next day, New Years Eve, no parts arrived, although the US Post Office, Fedex and UPS were all delivering. When I called back they were closed. I called again on Friday and was told the order was lost and they were going to ship again "overnight." That apparently means the following Tuesday, since it has not arrived today. After 45 minutes on hold (third call) I was told the part was going out today "overnight." Once the parts arrive I am to call again (another 45 minutes on hold?) to schedule a repair.
I have had to throw away all the food in the fridge and freezer (for a New Years Day dinner), and buy a small backup refrigerator ($200). I would say the losses in food and money is around $400.
I still do not have the parts, nor a repair scheduled. This service is a disaster.
I have bought the extended warranty, too, but if GE provides the same level of service, I may well put this object on eBay and start again with a reliable brand.
