IHOP Complaint - Seriously?!
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- This is an email I already submitted to IHOP:
A very sad visit to one of our local IHOP restaurants today. The service was mediocre, and the food was BAD.
The bacon was cold and full of grease. The sausage was cold and filled with "toenails". The Butter Pecan syrup was thinner than water, and the Maple syrup was in a mislabeled container, so I had no idea there was Maple even on my table. Even the pancakes were cold.
Speaking of pancakes. You folks are THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF PANCAKES! You do realize that, right? But the company standard for a pancake is 5 inches? Seriously?! And to add insult, you only give TWO of these dinky things when ordered as a combo. It reminds me of ordering the "dollar" sized pancakes at IHOP when I was a child. The pancakes at every other chain we eat, like Denny's, Jim's, etc, are about 8 or 9 inches. (Literally flopping over the edges of the LARGE dinner plate on which they are served! Not the tea plate you serve yours on.) Nearly twice the size - and hot and delicious!
For my wife and I, the bill was $25.00 plus tip. Twenty five dollars. And no we're not pigs ... just two meals. TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS! Seriously?! I mean, if the food and service were perfect that would be difficult to swallow, although doable. But when the food and service are bad ... WOW! If we get nearly identical meals at the chains mentioned before our bill would be around $16.00 or so. And the food would all be freshly made, hot, and tasty. Can you imagine where we now find value for our money?
I'm just one voice; one man's opinion. Certainly, nothing will change just because of this one notice from me. Even if so, I will not sacrifice my hard earned money to find out.
What in the world has happened to IHOP? Seriously.
