Travelocity Complaint - Never Use Travelocity! Arrive/Depart From Different Airports?!!!
WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- Travelocity, in the effort to obtain my business, offered the lowest price for airline tickets. Much to my chagrin, when I got to my connecting flight I realized that they booked me to depart from Dulles airport even though I arrived at Reagan! When I read through the fine print, I realized they did this, but it was not very clear, and I certainly didn't expect to have to travel to an airport 1 hour away (up to two in traffic or during holidays) for a flight that left 3 hours afterwards. Luckily, US Airways was courteous enough to change our flight, although New York to Charlotte to Savannah was stressful and time consuming to say the least, not to mention our luggage never arrived until the next day (we didn't know when it was going to come). I was also sick the entire night from being on planes so long.
But the worst part was that Travelocity never admitted error, apologized, accepted my grief, or offered to change my returning flight. After speaking with numerous attendants and being hung up on, I was told to "call the airline" because "there was simply nothing they could do." The airline told me they couldn't change the flight without somebody eating the $120 booking fee they pay to Travelocity, plus their own fees.
Fortunately again, US Airways changed our flight in Washington so we didn't have to go to a different airport, although we did have to wait around at Dulles for 4 1/2 hours, and realized that in the end we only saved one hour over just driving.
