Bank Of America Complaint - Bank Of America Ate My Kids Money And Ask Collection Agency To Collect Overdraft Fee After I Closed Our Accounts
CALIFORNIA -- During some holidays, each of my kids received some cash from their grandma. To teach kids good values, I opened a boa account for each of my children. They deposited the money grandma gave them into their accounts. The accounts were suppoed to link to the joint accounts my husband and I own so no fees will be necessary. Instead, boa deducted fees their accounts. Before I realize, the money in their accounts has vanished. Imagine the anger from my kids! They could have bought vedio games, toys; they could have seen movies with money. My husband and I both went to the branch office and spend significant time but only able to recover a portion of the money. After that experience, I decided it's time to terminate my business with boa and find a bank who can calculate better. I did find one and went to the boa branch office and closed my family's accounts. The funny thing is that 6 months after that, we received a letter from a collection agency acting on behalf of boa asking us to pay "overdraft fee". The "overdraft fee" turn out to be boa's monthly fee they charged to my accounts after I closed my accounts. I have never heard any banks doing stuff like this. Unbelievable!
