Dodge Complaint - 3rd Set Of Front Wheel Hubs
ALMA, WISCONSIN -- I purchased my 1998 dodge dakota r/t 5.9 New. At 40k miles the front wheel bearings went out. Naturally the vehicle was out of warranty. Doing some research I found out that there was an industry wide problem with these particular hubs. My dealer assurred me the problem was corrected and I forked out $214 apiece for the new hubs. At 88k miles they went out again and I just replaced them again at 130k miles. Roughly speaking, I am replacing these hubs every 40k miles. This is ridiculous. I have a 1951 chevy that has the original bearings in it. The dodge guys refuse to listen to reason and accept no culpability. I'm to old to buy a new vehicle and on ss it's hard to have to spend $3-400 every couple of years on new bearings. Is there something wrong with this picture or is it just me? I would like to know if my problem is isolated or are there others out there with the same problem.
