Bobs Discount Furniture Complaint - Poor Customer Service/Delivery Service
NEW JERSEY -- BUYER BEWARE! Bobs Discount Furniture uses a 3rd party contractor for delivery services. And when Bob advertises that "No one can deliver furniture for 'free'", Bob's certainly means it. To deliver a 3 piece living room set to our home (which they only deliver to our area once a week), we were charged $170+tax. Unfortunately on the day of our delivery, it snowed less than an inch and the delivery truck was unable to make it up the road leading to our house. The delivery contractor called to say we would need to reschedule. Instead of taking another day off work, we asked if the delivery truck could continue to make its other deliveries, as we still had 2 hours left within our delivery window, while we called our Township to request they come out to salt the road. The customer service representative of the delivery company needed approval from her manager for this request and the answer came back as "No". We spoke with a manager at Bobs Discount Furniture directly about our situation and advised that we were trying to work with their delivery company to complete the transaction without having to wait another week for our furniture and take more time off of work. Our furniture was already on a truck being driven around our town, the salt truck had passed by our road, was it really necessary for the delivery company to delay it another week?
The Bob's Manager was of no help either. He provided a weak apology and confirmed our feelings that we would NEVER purchase another item from Bob's again. We cancelled the purchase altogether.
