Orbitz Complaint - There's Smoke In The Engines Of Orbitz
I made the mistake of booking some hotel rooms through Orbitz which a few days later I needed to modify (one less room and one less night's stay). I saw there was a $50 cancellation fee which was kind of a bummer considering it was still weeks before the reservation, but Orbitz claimed it was the Hotel's policy. So be it. I just needed to know if I would be charged multiple fees for the two changes. After 6 canned response e-mails, 3 attempts to talk to somebody live of which the one person I did get (accidentally I'm hoping) hung up me, I decided to call the hotel, Hooters in Las Vegas, direct. Person there was great, no cancellation fee (turns out, it's an Orbitz wallet dig) and - get this - a much better rate. I attempted to dialog with Orbitz (call me silly) to see if they were willing to exchange a measly $50 for a very effective and permanent end to my business. I received another carefully vague response from some autotron known as a member of the OrbitzTLC Team.
I wish I had seen the smoke in the engines before getting anywhere near this travel disservice. Orbitz is one zit I would like to pop.
