Summer Bay Resorts Complaint - Fight Back - Vacation Package

Review by Not Willing to be a Victim on 2009-01-11
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- Don't wait for action against Summer Bay Resorts:

1. File a complaint with the Attorney General's Office (download form from website/2 pages/very simple to complete)

2. Contact your credit card company immediately. If charges have been made to your credit card, you have 60 days from the date of your bill w/charges to dispute them.

Please, please do not do business with Summer Bay Resorts!(Their company has 10 different business names.) I purchased a vacation pkg. over the phone after an internet pop up ad said "You've Won!" The representative claimed that I had won a $1000 vacation pkg that could be used within 5 years.

When I made the reservation to travel, additional charges were added to my credit card (more than $1000 dollars total) Our accommodations and reservation with Summer Bay was never confirmed. Seven days before our travel date I cancelled the trip. I was informed that there would be a cancellation fee of $200+. I told the representative that was unacceptable and that I had already alerted my credit card co. about possible fraud by Summer Bay Resorts. Finally, the reservations representative told me that I would receive a full refund with no cancellation fee. Later, the representative lied to her supervisor and claimed that our conversation did not take place. To date, I am out over $1000 because of Summer Bay Resorts.

Don't wait. . . Fight Back!

The pre-paid Vacation Package business has always been a pretty sleazy travel business. (VH info)
