Santa Barbara Honda Service Dept. Complaint - Overcharged For Unnecessary Work

Review by adinsb2009 on 2009-01-12
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA -- I went to my "trusted" Santa Barbara Honda Dealership for the first service of my 2008 Honda Accord, 8,000 miles on the odometer. The "Service A" warning appeared on my dashboard and so I promptly brought it into the dealership on Saturday, Jan. 10 2008. After going through a verbal list of things they "needed" to check, and long page worth of items, total came out to $92. I agreed since, after all, they are the experts.

Turns out the "Service A" on a brand new Accord is in fact only an oil change = $35 charge by most places. So, I was charged almost triple what I should have been charged by an unscrupulous Santa Barbara Honda Dealer Service Department which has now officially lost my business as well as my wife's Accord business. I hope it was worth it to them to make an extra $60 to lose our future business. Don't go here for repairs or buy from their dealership unless you don't care about honesty from a vendor!

I'd hate to think of what they do when you have an actual repair issue brought to their attention.
