Magellan GPS Complaint - Magellan GPS "The Worst Customer Service Ever"
New out of the box Christmas present, did not receive any satellite information. Called customer service, in India, and struggled through a series of stupid questions (are you outside, are you in a parking garage, is the unit on, does it have power..etc) Then the trouble shooting began, press this button, enter your address, hold the power button down, turn back on, turn back off and finally, yes your unit is broken.
Then the next step was to fax proof of purchase to them. I did that and in three days heard nothing. Emailed customer service and they said they never received proof of purchase, mind you I have fax confirmation in my hand. They asked me to fax again, now to a different number. Did that...two days again, heard nothing.
Three days and I got an email with a return authorization number. I sent the unit back FedEx and received a delivery confirmation. I email customer service again and asked when replacement would be sent out to me. They sent me a Return Authorization again. I emailed again with the FedEx delivery confirmation that yes, they already had the unit. Now any email I send to them now bounce. I assume they have "black listed" me somehow.
You would be better off to stay away from Magellan. I would not recommend them in any way, shape or form. I have doubts of ever receiving the unit back at all, nonetheless in working order.
