McDonald's Corporation Complaint - Completely Ignorant Owner
CORNER BROOK -- On our lunch break my wife and I visited our local Mcdonalds drive thru at corner brook, newfoundland, Canada. After a 15 min. wait we were greeted at the speaker. My wife ordered a southwest chicken meal for me, then asked if deli style sandwiches were still served. we were both speechless when the voice replied "WE DON'T SELL THAT GARBAGE ANYMORE". My wife said "excuse me", and the voice said "well you know, since that whole thing with the deli meats". We couldn't believe what we were hearing, but my wife proceeded to order a crispy chicken meal also. The voice asked "coke to drink". My wife answered yes, then requested no tomato. The voice told us our order had already gone to the grill and we would have to "PICK IT OFF", Again we just looked at each other. My wife then said that she was going to add cheese and bacon, but was quickly cut off with "it's to late, the order is already gone to the grill. This was completely crazy since our order wasn't even on the screen yet. I said to my wife that we should go someplace else, she agreed and politely cancelled the order and asked to speak to a manager. we never complain but this lady [I USE THIS TERM LOOSELY, VERY LOOSELY] was just plain rude. we stayed at the speaker but the voice wouldn't respond. We proceeded to the payment window and this lady politely said she wasn't the person we were speaking to.
We asked to speak to a manager and were completely shocked to learn that the voice was that of the owner/owners wife. The cashiers expression showed that she to couldn't believe the owners behavior. We proceeded to the pick up window and my wife said "YOU DON'T SERVE THAT GARBAGE ANYMORE?" The owner said "oh I was joking". Well I don"t see anything funny about a tainted meat outbreak that killed several people. When we said that we couldn't believe that as the owner, she would treat customers this way, she claimed to have talked to us quite nice and told my wife she should calm down.
We politely said we ate our last meal at her Mcdonalds and left. the service at this place has always been bad, but today, today we learned M[snip] are meant for each other. THIS PLACE NEEDS A SERIOUS CORPORATE OVERHAUL.
