British Airways Complaint - Confusing Rude No Refund Non Human Service From BA
While purchasing a ticket from British Airways it was mentioned that you must have valid documents to travel.
I have traveled with "Advanced Parole" via Air India, Continental and there was no issue. But UK has special transit rules which was never specified in their website.
On the day of travel I was informed about transit visa and asked to get one. My leave was only for 15 days and I found out that owing to Christmas weekend it would take almost 7-10 working days before I get my transit visa. So I had to cancel my ticket.
I called up 1-800-AIRWAYS and I asked for the unused portion of my travel to be refunded but they said that only the tax portion of my ticket will be refunded and for that too I need to go through the refund procedure. As instructed, I went to British Airways website to find a fax number and a online refund form.
There is no phone number where you can talk about refund. The fax has been sent and the refund form could never be submitted.
It is impossible to talk to any human regarding refund as they will cut you short saying that they do not handle refund.
Be very careful flying BA as there are 1000s of other grievances floating in the web world.
Unless you become a victim, you will continue to fly British Airways.
I lost $4800.
