Proactiv Complaint - Watch Out! Proactive Will Continue To Deduct From Your Account

Review by EliseB on 2009-01-20
I purchased the trial of Proactiv for my boyfriend. (You saw the commercials... for just 20 dollars) When signing up there was no mention of a commitment and to my understanding I was doing a one-time transaction from my account.

When singing up they also offered a free trial of VitaPower or something similar so I said fine. I never received the free sample and thought nothing of it since.

Now two months later I log on to my bank account and see a $50 deduction from my account for Proactiv and another $35 for VitaPower. (of course because I was not expecting this charge I also had a total of $70 in NSF fees.)

When I called Proactiv insisted that it is stated clearly. But I am a very shrewed person and know that at most it was listed in the fine print.

On top of that there is no way to cancel your account on the website.

Proactiv was very nice (I, not so much) and reversed the fees and asked that I just return shipment. The VitaPower was not as accommodating.

The product works well, and I would have eventually ordered again. But I will never now because of this deception.
