Springfield, Inc Compliment - Great company - Gear Up Promotion

Review by Starlord on 2009-01-21
LACEY, WASHINGTON -- In November of 2008, I purchased a Springfield Armory XD-45 pistol. Springfield Armory was running a promotion called Gear Up. By sending a copy of the receipt to the company, I was to receive two spare magazines and a magazine holder. Today, as we were leaving to go to WalMart*, a Fed-Ex truck pulled up and gave us a box from Illinois. When we got home, we found the box to contain a nice little black blow-molded plastic case with SA on the top. Inside the case were two stainless steel 13-round magazines and a Kydex belt holder for the magazines. When I bought the pistol I also purchased one spare magazine that was around $26.00. I do not know what the holders sell for, but the magazines are worth $52.00 by themselves.

The quality of Springfield Armory is legendary, and someday I hope to be able to purchase one of their M1 Garand rifles. The service on hte promotion was timely and as I said, the quality is top-notch. Kudos to Springfield, Inc.

Check out the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP)- better prices and are the real deal. The new M1's are built under licence and you'll be disappointed.
I understand the store is no longer govt run and the prices have crept up some.

Excellent advice, LT. CMP was once slow in turn around on orders. Has this changed? Other good companies for shooting supplies: "Cheaper Than Dirt" and "Brigade Quartermasters". Both great prices on mags (OM and no) and other items. Brigade's CS is #1!

I checked out CMP, and I was impressed, to a point. I qualify under several points, former LEO,CPL in Washington, formerly ALEOAC certified Range Master and Marksmanship Instructor. However, to buy from CMP, you must be amember of a club. Sorry, I don't know of any clubs here, adn I could not afford it if there was one. I have spoken to several buyers of SA M-1's and even fired a couple, an d the quality is superb, as is the quality of their 1911A1's, However, $500 or $600 is much better that $1,200+. Either way, it is only a dream.
