Office Max Complaint - Service
BROOKFIELD, CONNECTICUT -- I was very disappointed with the service or non-service if I may that I did not receive on Saturday night 2/14. I entered the store at 8:50 p.m. with a floppy disk in hand hoping to have the Customer Service Associate make 1 copy of the single sheet file that it contained as my computer was not cooperating and I needed a copy of my resume for an interview on Monday. The person behind the area where they run off copies told me they were out of toner so I proceeded to the person assisting someone at the register (as the clock was ticking). It was not 8:55 p.m. That person then told me that they had run out of toner during the day. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I looked around for a camera as I thought I was on Candid Camera. Here I was in a store that carries office supplies and they were out of toner. They have aisles and aisles of supplies and THEY WERE OUT OF TONER! I had to hold in my laugh as she was serious. I looked at her and told her I only needed one copy and didn't she have a computer available. She said they did but not for customers' use. I asked if there was a store nearby. I new that Staples was only a few miles away. She said that I would not get there in time as they would be closing at 9:00 and it's 8:55 now. Well, I was so disturbed by this. They were so intent on closing right at 9:00. The area where the clerks run off copies for customers was obviously closed down well before 9:00 and they had no intention on refilling the toner that night. The thing I still can't understand is how can an office supply store run out of toner. Anyway, I will travel to any lengths and go to any other store even if it means I will pay more before I purchase even a pencil at Office Max. Imagine, running out of toner!
