Best Buy Complaint - Best Buy: Never Again
DEWITT, NEW YORK -- I just recently had a cd player installed in my car. When I purchased the item I was asked if I already had an aftermarket radio, I said yes and was told that it would be an easy install. The radio that was in there was not of high quality but everything fit well and looked good. When I picked my car up it was dark and from what I could tell everything looked good. Today while sitting in my car I noticed that the dash kit that was suppose to "work perfectly" does not fit at all. This has made it so that my cupholder does not open the frame around the cd player only fits on one side, etc. This is the second time I have gone to best buy for a car installation and will never go again. The first time my car leaked water after install of an amp and subwoofer. After bringing it to a dealer I found out that was caused because they never sealed the hole they used in the firewall. After a hard fought battle with best buy I was able to get their insurance company to cover the $3000 (yes $3000) of damage that had been done due to the water screwing up electronics in the car and having to replace the carpet which started to stink. After it was all settled I was told by best buy they would take no responsibility for anything else that happened due to the water and to please not bring the car back to them if I found anymore problems (confident in their employees work huh?) I thought what are the chances of them messing up twice on my car.
AVOID AT ALL COST. I am looking to purchase speakers for my car too, best route order from Crutchfield and follow their greatly detailed instructions for DIY install.
