J.C. Penney Company, Inc. Complaint - Billing due date change
VIRGINIA -- I have been a credit card holder longer than I can remember and a life long customer. I was shocked when I opened my Dec 2008 statement and discovered a late fee posted to my account. I immediately called the 1-800 number to get this issue resolved. I could not understand the individual on the other line and he was rude short and would not let me complete a sentence. Eventually, I asked where he were located and he informed me that he was in India. I then insisted on speaking with an American representative and was transferred. The American representative explained that the billing due date was changed and notices were sent (did not get one). To resolve the issue she posted my payments to the correct periods based on the original due date and informed me that I did not need to make a payment until Jan 30. Just got the bill and there is another late fee. Tried to call to speak with an American representative and was told they could not transfer me and that I would have to keep calling back. I did that 3 times and continued to get the Indian reps. I am quite annoyed with this situation and I want an immediate resolution.
Customers should have an option to speak with customer service reps that they can understand and who are not rude. My years as a loyal credit card holder have come to an end if this is how I will be treated.
