Whirlpool - Range Problems
Kitchenaid Range - Complaint
TORONTO AREA -- In Sept 2001 we purchased a Kitchenaid electric range. We were told that it was a very reliable unit. The second time we tried to use the self-cleaning oven, it did not work. We had to have the unit fixed. While the service person worked on the unit, electrical sparks were flying. Eventually, the problem was fixed.
Later we had problems with one of the elements not working. We had that fixed.
At the end of Aug 2008, all elements stopped working. After being unable to fix the problem, the serviceman sent away to the States for a part (fuse?) We were without the stove for one full month. At the end of Sep, the problem was fixed. On Christmas Day, all the stove top elements stopped working. End of first week in Jan. 09, serviceman bypassed the new part and the stove now works fine. We have since been charged for the first service call and the part that is no longer working (it only has a 90 day warranty) and has since been bypassed!
My complaints have been fruitless. So much for Kitchenaid and Whirlpool products being reliable.
