Wells Fargo & Company Complaint - Thieves - Line of credit
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I have a line of credit with Wells Fargo and fell a few months behind on my payments. I spoke with a representative on Friday 1/23 and let him know that I would be making a payment on Monday 1/26 and he insisted a make some kind of payment that day. I explained to him that I had customers who owe me a lot of money and that I was doing everything in my power to collect and would pay them off in full once I received payment in about 2-3 weeks. On Saturday I went to buy a $40 item and my card was declined. I immediately went to an ATM machine to transfer money to my checking thinking I had made a mistake and to my shock found out that Wells Fargo had taken out $10,000.00 from my savings account and left me in a a negative status. I went into a branch and they called the number and to their surprise it was a Wells Fargo number and no one was available to answer questions for me. I am absolutely livid since the money they pulled out was an insurance claim check for my house that was damaged in the recent hurricane (Ike) and the money was for a contractor that has completed the repairs.
I am going to get on the phone tomorrow and file complaints with anyone who is going to listen. My contractor is demanding payment and some of my other checks are going to bounce. They have done this before and I did not complain about it but this time they have gone too far. I am also going to cancel my account first thing tomorrow.
