Target Complaint - Exchange Of Microwave Which Lasted Less Than 1 Month
MACHESNEY PARK, ILLINOIS -- My wife and I received a microwave for Christmas and it stoped working on the 22nd (less than 1 month). I called the store and said I have box that it came in with the target label on it and that I just wanted to return for a working unit. I was told by their customer service department that I had to have bar codes receipts, check numbers or credit card receipts which 25 year old kids do not keep (my kids) and I don't want a refund, I only want a working microwave. I asked to talk to a manager, was put on the phone with a person named [snip], who basically told me the same thing. I asked him for the phone number of targets corporate office, and when I called the number there was a foreign woman who could barely speak English who told me she would give me the number of the manufacturer. All this on an oven which is less than I month old. Target should get out of the dark ages. No other chain has these exchange policies, and they will put themselves out of business by making people angry about their policies. This is one family that will never shop at Target again. And as far as the defective microwave, they may have made a profit on the one item, but they will never make money from my family again. They lost a bunch of regular customers that use cash (retired navy) and in this day and age you cannot afford to lose many customers. Enjoy your profit.
I will never shop in your store again. in case you did not know there are other stores with better exchange policies, that sell the same items as you do.
