Shoppers Lottery Informative - Mail Scam - Shoppers Lottery - Gulf Corporations

Review by ME TOO on 2009-01-26
I received a check that looked 'very real'. The check was for 4700.00, and said to cash and pay fees for the lottery that I had won. The other check was for 120,000.00 and would be sent via Western Union (Ha!) after I had paid the government fees with the other check. Cash the check and send them the cash and they would take care out the fees so I would not have to be troubled with filling out the papers for the government/bond. By now I was laughing at this check and letter. The sad part of this is that an older person who was raised at a time that you could trust a person at their word might fall for this. There is not much you can do to stop this kind of scam but getting the word out might help someone from losing their hard eared money.

Tell as many people that you can and older people that you know. Because this new scam is the most "real looking one" that I have seen.

Great review. Except for the CAPS LOCK.

This scam has been know for some time. But it still works. There is no shortage of gullible people.

There are used keyboards at your local thrift store for less than $4.00 and work great. I go there every time when Im building computers for my friends and family.

Which was the "company" that issued the letter? It seems exactly like the De-Lotto scam that I posted about a while back.
Posted by tnchuck100 on 2009-01-26:
The "company" that may appear on the check is just as much a victim as the recipient was intended to be.
