United Parcel Service Complaint - Intentional Delivery Delay
I've come to learn that the commercial package shipping services intentionally delay package deliveries when those packages are running ahead of time for their destinations. I recently took a job at one such place and was amazed to learn of this practice.
It works like this. If you buy a product and select standard 5 day delivery which is cheaper rather than the rush 2 day delivery, and the standard delivery package will actually make it to you in 2 days anyway, the company stalls the package at your local/regional distribution center until day 5 then, viola, delivers "on time". It's a sickening practice but the company makes top dollar by getting you to pay $$$ for those rush deliveries. If standard delivery packages actually arrived ahead of schedule at the rush schedule, many people will will stop paying for such "rush" service.
Give it a try. Track your next package and you very well may notice that it makes fantastic progress until it reaches a regional distribution center from which next day delivery is guaranteed yet it inexplicably stalls for a day or more.
