Best Buy Complaint - We're Gonna Charge You Anyway
I purchased a computer from best buy on credit through best buy and was making the minimum monthly payments. I decided to go through my bank for a loan to get all my company stores paid off and pay one loan with a much lower interest rate. My bank sent them a huge check to pay off my bill and close my account and they sent in in plenty of time to get there before the dreaded deadline. Best Buy posted my payment ONE DAY after the due date and then proceeded to charge me a late fee of over 40.00 for the next two months, without contacting me! I just got a bill in the mail from them in January for nearly 100.00 saying I owed them. I did not even know what it was for until I contacted the un-helpful and un-friendly 'customer service reps'. I tried three times to get the charges removed from my account and the account closed. The reps let me know in no uncertain terms that the late fees would continue to pile up until I paid my bill. I don't know who to turn to for help here. All I can say is for God sakes do not trust these people. They are dishonest and evil. I'm still not paying them. I refuse to pay my hard earned money for nothing. no service/no merchandise/nothing.
I wish there was a way to stop these companies from behaving like sociopath nightmares. If anyone has any advise I would love to hear it.
