United Parcel Service Complaint - UPS Is Undependable And Has Lousy Customer Service
SOUTH CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA -- UPS hides from its customers behind an automated hell. I ordered an item from Amazon.com that I needed for a scheduled job on January 29th. I placed the order 12 days prior. Amazon.com first shipped it via 3 day delivery by U.S. Postal Service. 9 days later I still hadn't received the part so Amazon.com gratiously sent another one at their cost vi UPS overnight shipment. It was supposed to be delivered today. I went to tracking and found that they had failed to put the package on the delivery truck for my area. I tried calling the 800 number and went through their maze of options. After several tries of different options I finally connected with a human. She said she could not give me the local number of the warehouse in my area and that she would email them. She guaranteed me they would call within an hour. They didn't. I called a friend that had an acquaintance that worked there and got an inside number. I called it and told the lady I needed the part today. She said the plane go in just prior to noon and they just didn't get the item on the truck for my area. I told her I wanted it delivered today as promised and contracted. She said there was no way they would do that. I tried calling the UPS Headquarters office in Atlanta, GA. No one answered the listed number.
UPS does not live up to its contracts and it purposely posts no direct contact numbers for for management or escalation. I will always use Fedex from now on. You cannot depend on UPS. The UPS management does not want to hear from customers.
