Webs.com Informative - Freewebs/Webs.com Sliding Downhill

Review by jefereni on 2009-01-28
I've been with Webs.com since they were Freewebs.com... a couple years now. They make it so simple for the computer novice to have their own website it's a crime. Really.

They've been adding more and more applications and widgets to the site that it's just too much fun.

If only the site was stable.

My other gripe is that at first I signed up for a free account. I soon upgraded to two $24 payments a year. Then onward and upward to bigger and better options.

Now I come to find that they've been charging me the $48 per year for several years now for no good reason. When I upgraded, they should have cancelled my subscription and begun the new one. I didn't open a second site..I upgraded the one I had.

Now they are telling me I should have cancelled the subscription on my own. I still maintain my position that a responsible, honest business wouldn't be handling things this way. I feel they should go back in their books and figure out how much money they stole from me and at the very least offer me a credit/partial credit as an apology.

Am I wrong or are they? I figure they can be jerks cause who would hire an attorney to fight over a couple hundred dollars, right?

[Anyone out there familiar with this website's ease of use have any suggestions for me as to where to move my site? I really am pretty illiterate computer wise and loved webs.com till this garbage.]

I put the advert email in because their 'billing' email no longer is in operation. Can you believe that? lol
