Campbell Soup Informative - Good Soup Is In The Eyes/Mouth Of The Beholder
NORMAN, OKLAHOMA -- With flies in our burritos, Mercury in my Mac N Cheese and who knows what else is out there (nutshells in a salad wrap), I thought that a "feel good" P.S.A. type of informative would be in order.
Ordinarily, I try to stay away from canned soups unless I am coming down with a cold and need some chicken noodle soup for the ZINC it contains to sooth my sore throat. As for the "garden variety" of soups such as tomato soup, I'll pass even if it came with a grilled cheese 'sammie' I am much too mature and sophisticated for that kind of meal. *joking*
Anyway, my overeducated Sister in all of her wisdom brought a case of this stuff for my Mom who very seldom eats soup so she (Mother) sent some home with me.
Let me preface this by saying that due to age and maybe a few too many "Cosmos" here and there, my taste buds aren't that sensitive anymore so I need to "tighten up" my foods with various spices and probably way too much salt!
I had the Chicken Tortilla something soup (don't recall seeing any pieces of tortillas in it) and considering that it was a canned soup it had some hint of flavor but obviously not enough for me. I guess the lack of MSG does make a difference. I couldn't get enough salt in this stuff and the hot sauce didn't help much either.
Like I said that's my problem and I am not saying that this soup isn't any good. It probably is to those that can TASTE it. They could add a few more chunks of chicken.
Not sure what the price is for these soups but for a quick lunch, they should hit the spot
