DirecTV Inc Complaint - Boycott DirecTV - Service
MANASSAS, VIRGINIA -- We, as consumers, must join together and boycott DIRECTV. Their poor business practices are tantamount to corrupt business practices in my opinion.
I had been a satisfied customer for 4 years then due to a family crisis I needed to move my television out of the family room. When I moved it, I could not get reception and called their customer service. I was told that I had a bad receiver which I disputed because it worked in the family room. I was told they needed to send a new receiver but that I would be committed to a 1-year service agreement which I said I could not do because I was moving into a rental. I was told that if my landlord would not allow me to transfer service then to call them and they would waive it because of the move that I was notifying them of in advance. That is exactly what happened but then not only would they not waive the service agreement, they charged me $150 when I had to cancel service. This whole situation should never have happened because, as I told them, it was not a receiver issue in the first place.
DIRECTV did nothing more than rip me off. When I refused to pay for their theft they only submitted the upaid amount to not 1 but two collection agents and then my has now been ruined by the theft of this company. I had a rating of 750 and now it's around 500 which is essentially ruined.
DIRECTV IS NOTHING MORE THAN A THIEVING COMPANY. DO NOT GET USE THEIR SERVICES - IT JUST ISN'T WORTH IT TO ANYONE IN THE LONG RUN!!!!
