Kitchenaid Complaint - Saga continues - Almost All My Kitchenaid Appliances Have Failed, In 5 Years!
DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA -- Two years from the below posting, I now have had to replace dishwasher, washer, dryer, and now microwave/range ovens. The only things still standing are the refridgerator, which had work done before, and the compactor, which had no problem.
DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID!!!!!! I swear that I will never ever consider any Kitchenaid product again, and I will tell all my relatives and friends to stay away from the junk under this so-called high-end brand.
After reading the 12/29/2008 posting by "mcsticka" of Pasadena, MD, I came to the conclusion that there must be quite a few out there with the same problems as ours.
I bought a whole suite of matching Kitchenaid appliances back in 2004, and by now I've had the failures described below:
1. dishwasher: broken door cable (same as Mcsticka's), malfunctioning switch panel
2. refrigerator: broken ice dispenser door (same as Mcsticka's)
3. oven: malfunctioning switch panel (same as Mcsticka's)
4. washer: overflowing tub, as it is doing now and I have to clean up the floor; stopping in middle of a cycle for no reason
The only units not broken (knock on wood) are the trash compactor and the clothes dryer.
Lucky enough I bought extended warranty for the whole suite, so I've not had to pay for the major repairs. But what if I did not?
I've had Whirlpool and GE, both of which are lesser brands than Kitchenaid, but I've not had this kind of brand-wide failure. I will not recommend Kitchenaid to my friends in the future.
