Hewlett-Packard Company Complaint - Don't Even Think About Purchase
Resolution Update on 05/21/2009:
Two months later a new excellent case manager resolved the problem by FEDX ing me the power source to replace the defective one. Should have been done on day # 1.
FLORIDA -- I have not owned an HP PC in over ten years due to the last experience when I was told my brand new purchase would be picked up, repaired and returned to me in a timely fashion. It sat in my foyer for a month with no contact or pick up. I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge b/c of HP's lack of response/action. The charge was deleted w/ no protest from HP. BTW, the model I order was subsequently dropped from the HP line.
Well, history repeats itself! After 10 years and at least 6 other PC's/laptops (w/ NO reliability/service issues) from other manufacturers I decided to order a HP Pavilion Elite from my company's employee discount online store. I was impressed with the unit the first week until the power suddenly flickered and then completely shut down.
All my info was transferred to the 4 GB drive with no way to retrieve/erase it. Returning it is not an option for me and a refurbished unit is HP's only offer for remedy. The tel tech svc is without a doubt the WORST I have experienced with any product. The service reps and supervisors are robots that read from canned responses. Save yourself a lot of major headaches and do not purchase HP PC's. I learned my lesson the hard way again. FYI I have been around computers and DP for 40 years so I am not new to the game.
