DirecTV Inc Complaint - Lets Band Together Against These Thieves And Con Artists
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA -- So in April of 2008 I moved, I called DircTV CSR and wanted to cancel my service they informed me that I had an agreement until January of 2009 and said that if I cancelled then (April) that there would be an cancellation fee, but that moving was free and I could cancel in January. So I did.
January 2009 rolls around. I call to cancel and I'm now told that I when I moved that I agreed to an addition 2 yr contract. Which I was never told about in any way shape or form. when I finally calmed down and called back to CSR she told me that I could file a grievance with them at a Colorado office and she would cancel the service. but I'm never told that there will be a cancellation fee.
So today comes and I go to use my visa check card and I can't. I go the bank and check my balance and it says I have a negative $330 that DirecTV has withdrawn from my acct. so basically they have taken my entire paycheck from me, leaving me and my kids nothing to live on for the next week or so. I couldn't even buy groceries for our house.
So after the same ol' same ol' repeats and script like answers from the customer service reps, I find the phone number for the main office in El Sugundo, California and call there. well, they'll tell you its the "office of the president" that you are talking to but really its the same customer service reps just they are American. and you get the same answers.
However, she did inform me that the CSR was wrong and instead of a 2yr I "allegedly" (never) agreed to a 12month agreement. and I was notified of it by mail which I never received. when I asked about why I was told I could move in April and cancel in January she didn't know why he told me that and basically called me a liar. So I asked about pulling the supposed "phone call recordings" they do, and she says " they are for quality purposes only and not all calls are recorded" how ironic is it the one it didn't record was the one that would tell the truth of the whole situation. She also informed me that instead of #330 that came out that it should of only been $60. Even though MY point is they are stealing, by taking money out of my check account without my permission. They keep saying "its in the agreement". To me that doesn't matter, fact is money came out of my account without my knowledge. That is STEALING!! So instead of my check book being $330 in the negative its only gonna be about $100 or so after the bank fees add into it. All because of things that THEY failed to inform ME their customer of. Right now I'm so sick to my stomach over not having any money to feed my kids or myself for the next week, I don't know what I will do.
So after all the calls and not getting it resolved in the proper manner, I did get on the Better Business Bureau website and sent a complaint in with them regarding DirecTV. If all of us get together and everyone does this maybe we can just bring this company down, and put a stop to the poor service, poor customer service and overall poor and flat out bad business!!
So I've read A LOT of reviews on here regarding DirecTV, and a lot of them are the same issues I'm having. So, if you are still having problems with them and they took a lot of money from you and you feel that you are being screwed outta money, and agree with me, lets take a stand against the crooks that are called DirecTV.
