Ikea Informative - There Is No Santa, Virginia
There is no Santa and there is no truth to the 25 yr warranty/guarantee on Ikea KITCHEN CABINETS.
YES, the door hinges open and close like the little machine demonstrates, however, they corrode and pit as the years go on.
YES, they sell look-a-like kitchen cabinets, however, Ikea fails to disclose how the paper thin veneer either yellows, chips or wears-off the cabinets exposing ugly press-board.
Ikea fails to sell the paper-thin veneer for repairs, as do other stores, as no installer can remove it without destroying the press-board, so once your cabinet has lost the catalog look, you need to buy a new one if it's still in stock and stock changes frequently.
DO NOT BELIEVE THE 25 year guarantee. I doubt the door latches/hinges will last the 25 yrs as there will not be a cabinet for them to open or
IKEA advertises itself as affordable, it's not affordable when it has to be replaced long before
you expect it or they advertise it.
TILES: The glue on the tiles sweated and stained the pattern above, so there were yellow sections on the entire floor. That had to be torn off and replaced. Chairs don't last, pillows are ok, sheets are ok, curtains are ok, rugs get worn looking pretty fast, the Swedish meatballs are good, probably the best item in the store.
It used to be that MADE IN JAPAN was a reason to avoid an item, now it's moved to MADE IN CHINA and SOLD BY IKEA!!!
