Review by keawe on 2009-02-02
MARANA, ARIZONA -- Well we were mailed coupons for the grand opening in Marana for Papa Murphys new pizza opening, so a couple days after opening we take our coupon in and the owner at the door shoves us off on the guy at the cash register... We hand him our free lg pizza for grand opening coupon and he says... Oh we've already given out all the free pizzas we are giving!!!!!!!!! What???? Don't send them out for new customers if you can't honor them.. I am telling everyone I know that the place is a rip off, scam, horrible customer service and I heard the pizza sucks anyways....... I speak to hundreds of customer in my line of business and I tell each and everyone of them the story and that they suck... I hope they go under... Thats just not right!!! Only send out as many as you want to give out $&@&$.. Learn how to start a business not lose one!!!

Count on me to continue to tell anyone and everyone about your horrible service!!!!

So your pissed of because they wouldn’t honor your free pizza coupon. that’s a little extreme don’t you think

Count yourself lucky you didn't get the free pizza. Their pizzas without a doubt are the most undercooked pizzas ever served by any pizza joint. Heck, if I didn't know better I'd say they were raw.

Crabs its a take and bake pizza, you cook it yourself in the oven. so if its undercooked its your own fault

Is there any disclaimer on the coupon? Like 'to the first 200 customers', or something like that?

keawe, you "heard the pizza sucks anyways" (btw, anyways isn't a word), yet you are this pissed about not getting a free one?? How pissed would you be if you had heard their pizza was fantastic?

just hope you do not tell the wrong customer while you are being paid for your job. bad moothing an other company while being paid to do a job can and will get you fired for slander.

and if they go under, then your job will follow. there are far to many people un-employed to wish a failure on a business.

i want to see the coupon.

Papa Murphy's is a "take and bake" pizza joint. How can it be undercooked if the customer is going to bake it? Not bad pizza either.

Surely there was an expiration date or some restrictions.
Keawe, they can't stay in business if they give away pizzas forever.

We have a Papa Murphy's here in Lacey, WA, which is where we first heard of ir. I am not aware of a PM in Marana, the last I heard was that there was going to be a PM at that big new shopping center at I-10 and SR 287, in Casa Grande. I wish I had been able to afford to buy a PM franchise. All you have to do is build the piZzas, no big gas or electricty guzzling ovens to keep going. We dearly love the PM pizzas, and my personal favorite is the Cowboy pizza. I would be very careful about passing on something you have heard. I got a dollar to a dog biscuit that you would love Papa Murphy's if you try it. In Arizona, it is a brand-new operation, so it may be possible that the new people (no other kind for a new frranchise) just need a little time to adjust to what is a new idea there. Believe
me,whenyou get really hot pizza because you cook it in your own oven, you will not want to go back to a lukewarm pizza that is delivered, or you pick up already cooked. No way you will get it hot, fresh and delicious like Papa Murphy's.

I'd be pissed... A free pizza is a free pizza. Especially if you drove all the way there.

Did the OP look if the coupon has any restrictions on it?

Good question, wally. I'd be really irked too if there wasn't an expiration or something similar clearly marked on it.
