Academy Service Complaint - Debt Collector Calls

Review by dward1129 on 2009-02-02
PENNSVILLE, NEW JERSEY -- These people from Academy Service call me constantly looking for a Juan ----. I keep telling them they have the wrong number. After they called me 3 times in a row, I asked them who they were and they refused to tell me. They wanted me to tell them who I was and even asked me for my social security number. I hung up on them and they called me again telling me that they knew I know this individual.

I told them if they call again I would go to the police and get a restraining order on them.

Send them a Cease and Desist letter through certified mail. If they continue calling you, you can sue them for harassment. I would record the phone calls and use them as evidence.

Another technique that has worked is to say all call s on your line are recorded. Naturally they hang up immediately. After a few more calls they stop.

You're missing out on a lot of fun here. Tell the debt collector you are Juan. Tell him 'Come and get the money, punk. I ain't payin'...ever. I don't pay any of my bills anyway. Only suckers pay bills. And, I got a NEW CAR today, and I ain't payin' for it." Then, do your own skip tracing on "Juan". Then front him off to the collectors once you find him. They'll be like falcons on a bunny.
