Stanley-Bostitch Inc Complaint - Plastic Recycling
Complaint
RHODE ISLAND -- We do plastic recycling. I called their receptionist to offer to purchase their plastic scrap. I was told that without a real person's name my call could not be forwarded. I called customer service and she referred me back to the receptionist.
I would have thought that since I am a potential customer and not a salesperson I would get through to a real person. But I guess in this environment some people are still not interested in reducing their environmental impact.

zz, I don't think it was HIS name they wanted. I think that if he did not know the name of the person to talk to about recycling she would not transfer the call. Fired?? Where did that come from?
Sounds like the receptionist may well have been Mrs. Hawiggins. Maybe he could not remember Mr. Tudball's name.

same as with my company, if you do not have an appointment, or known business, you will not get thru to anyone. call screening is very common for large companies.

To me it sounds like he was either making "cold calls" to "SB" or P-O'd at them about something.
Surely SB, has their own recycling program already.

Is it really fair to slam a company on the net because you called them cold and couldn't get someone to sell you something they were never selling to start with?
