Target Complaint - Selling Of A Used Car Seat
NORTH FAYETTE, PENNSYLVANIA -- Yesterday I bought a car seat at Target spending $130. I opted for the car seat as it could be a rear facing, forward facing, and a belt positioned seat. Great deal for a seat I'd use for the rest of his seat needing days.
To my dismay when I opened the box up at home there was spit up on the one belt as well as a pamphlet for a local event that was well over 3 months ago, the product manual looked as it it had sat in water then was dried.
So, I called the manufacturer and they could care less - they told me to call the store that I bought it at. So I called the Target and spoke with the manager Kat. She just said, in a non caring or alarmed voice, just bring it back and we'll get you a new one.
Uh, HELLO! Why was a used car seat on your selves to begin with?!?! What if the person had bought the seat - used it and was in a accident, and returned it??? What if that seat had been water logged thus damaging the strength of the belts?
So I asked why was it even on the shelf to begin with- her response
"(sigh) Oh, whoever did the return probably didn't check it."
Okay well I do not want to put my son's life into the probability that someone will check a seat and not take the word of those returning the seat!
