Starkist Complaint - White Albacore Is Very Very Dark

Review by 090388 on 2009-02-04
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- I used to purchase just the plain tuna but it got so soupy that I have been forced to buy albacore which is a lot more expensive. When I buy the "other brand", it's great but sometimes my husband forgets and gets Starkist and it's awful. It smells fishy and is so dark that I'm pretty sure it's darker than the regular tuna used to be.

The smell makes me wonder what other kind of fish is in there....if indeed it is fish.

Yuck. I'd contact them directly, if I were you.

Get the tuna in the pouches, NOT cans...which are soupy and mushy as all get out. The pouches have flakey tuna and it's great. Give it a try.

To zzrokk: I meant it smelled fishier than tuna should. ha ha I guess that did sound funny.

To Azspots: I will try the pouch. Are they more expensive? Can you get Solid White Albacore in pouch? Otherwise I'm sticking to C of S brand.
