Dish Network Complaint - After Over 2 Years Of Service- I Hate Dish Network
MASSACHUSETTS -- First off, I was reluctant to make a switch to Dish Network because you can not get a basic package that contains any local channels. This means we do not get Fox (so I can't watch The Simpsons or any local news or games.)Or NBC (Scrubs and more news) PBS (local series and children's programming that does not rot your kid's brains).
Well, for whatever reason we felt the need to switch to Dish Network. "try it out". We got stuck to a contract (not that we would have the time to switch anyways...) Television SHOULD NOT cause problems in my opinion, it should be a stress reliever... not inducer.
Anyways, after getting Dish Network set up it seemed to work okay for awhile... and I loved the DVR function! I could record any show I wanted at any time an watch it at any time after that point. About a month into the service our second TV started having a blue screen when we turned it on. This problem would go away after 2-10 minutes. As the time it took to return to normal increased, I called Dish Network and they agreed to send a guy out to us for free (sounds nice right?)
He allegedly rewired the whole thing (In an amazingly short period of time) and it seemed like it was working for the rest of that day. But the very next day it was having the same problem. We let it go for awhile because we really did not have the time to stand around for a couple hours for them to rewire it "again".
Finally it stopped returning to normal completely, I called the company (I am sure I sounded rather annoyed) and the woman said that we could have another guy come out free of charge, I was unsure of the time that we would be available so I told her that I would call back with the details over the next week and she said she would mark on our account that a guy would come out to us for free to fix it.
Well, the next time I called they said that it was not stated anywhere that we could have someone fix it for free and that even though I had been told that he would come for free, they were going to charge us for his visit (despite the fact that he did not seem to do what he had come to do the first time around.) All of a sudden they decided that they "needed to talk to the person whose name is on the account" even though he is not the one who pays the bill. they will accept a check with someone else's name but they will not talk to them? I was getting a bit furious and they refused to talk to me any longer (an incredibly rude thing to do to a customer). When I had the chance later that day I tried to have him call instead and the line would not go through! They will not even let me turn I off without him calling and with us paying direct deposit I have no choice in the matter.
Since I am in Massachusetts where the satellite dish is and he is in Florida it makes no sense for me to not have the right to call customer service. Anyways, The customer service sucks, the service itself doesn't work and I am rather sick of their chunky boxes making it impossible for me to watch movies (Something is wrong with the remote; I tried reprogramming it more times than anyone should have to).
Do not switch to Dish Network, you will regret it.
