Jay Lee Honda - Gladstone, OR Informative - Total Rip-Off! And I Thought I Knew Better...

Review by babba on 2009-02-12
GLADSTONE, OREGON -- I am a senior from Portland. This was to be my last major car purchase.(August, 08. Am I sad? Yes I am. I feel completely violated.......Resulting in an awesome ripoff...

all cons: pressure, unknown add-ons, no opportunity to bargain, relentless, minute explanations on the documents I signed. I never knew what hit me. Just wore me out, no way to leave without problems so I bought on impulse. This, in my opinion lost me approximately 8000.00, Or more.

After the sale, I asked for their history of the car plus the current used car checklist review, and their current carprep so I would be prepared for any weakness of the car. I was refused, totally with an explanation that they don't give out that information.

I complained to DMV, at gen, etc, finally got a history for the car I bought. Their service manager at that time (late August, 2008) answered this question with:

Question----I'm leaving on a trip over the mts, what information or prep can you give me on my car so I can keep out of trouble.? Answer == if a light on your dash goes on, then you have trouble......What great information.

I have a complaint into the attorney general, DMV
and the better business bureau.

I was a sucker, stupid, knowledgeable, but innocent. I did get ripped to shreds........

Unless they threatened physical harm they ripped you off because you let them. Before you go over the mountains take the car to a reputable mechanic for a complete check.

FYI: 2004 Honda Pilot has 3 recalls issued. 172 Technical Service Bulletins issued, with most of those concerning the electrical systems.

you should have checked everything before you bought it. They don't want to answer you cause if you've read any complaint on here if the tranny goes out tomorrow or the engine overheats the first thing you would post is "They told me they had just flushed the fluid and now this happens!" They probably checked things but didn't replace anything
