Papa John's Pizza Informative - Customers - Delivery

Delivery
Review by cardgirl on 2009-02-12
ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- People need to realize that even though "Papa Johns" may have delivered to your house before....there are more than 2 or 3 drivers that go to a home. There are sometimes 10 drivers for one store. Some of them could be new drivers. So, realize that even if Papa johns has been there before, it does not mean that the same driver has ever been there before! Give us a break.

Everyplace now has an address, and addresses are not some esoteric knowledge known only to the initiated. Any driver worth his salt should be able to locate an address for a delivery. Just be glad you are not in Tokyo, where the houses do not have addresses

I'm a delivery driver in Rock Hill,SC and yes every house has an address, but at night it is hard to see some addresses, and although every house HAS an address, some houses don't have a mailbox or the address visible at all.If you want your pizza quickly, give a valid working phone number and be available to answer it in case the driver has to call.If you don't have a mailbox or it may be difficult to find your house and your calling in an order, let whoever you are talking to know so they can tell the driver.I've been working it Papa John's as a driver for 4 months and since then i've been robbed at gunpoint and i've been in a car accident. If you want to be an ass, then please order somewhere else.

Sorry drivers, but this is the job that you chose. I certainly wouldn't want to deliver (too risky) but that doesn't mean I should tip over and above what is normal.

Personally, I don't ask for delivery. If I can't get off my butt to pick it up myself, then I don't need it.

Ugh ok where to start with Jezze comment ...first of all what is "normal" when it comes to tipping (10 to 15 %) this is the rate for restaurants but u have to consider that the waiter/waitress doesn't have to walk to your table that's located ten miles away (i know i know we get a delivery fee)guess what... when we drive we DON'T make min wage that fee is for gas and even that gets dipped into by most pizza companies.and yes its risky think about the guy who gets hit by the drunk driver on his single trip home from work on a weekend and yet we can go out on 15 runs each night then robbery, car wear etc. but yes we "choose this job" in this fantastic economy we live in i have all sorts of choices for an additional income so i can "choose"to have electricity, food, a house, money to finish school etc etc but i digress sorry for the rant but its people with that attitude who will order 70 bucks worth of food have you drive it 12 miles one way to them then sign the receipt with a smile and send you on your way with nothing. i don't expect sympathy just common understanding and courtesy.
