Creative Compliment - Loving My Zen! - Zen

Review by Brandon Starr on 2009-02-13
I have gone through two other MP3 players that were total pieces of crap, I finally found the right one for me. The Creative Zen.

This credit card-sized MP3 player does everything I ever wanted it to. It plays videos, it hold enough songs (I got the 4GB version) and has expandable memory (now it's 8GB). I used to own a 2GB Sandisk Sansa e200 series and that turned out to be a total waste. One of the sides of audio went out and I couldn't connect it to my Mac. I gave that one away as it was given to me. Then I had a little RCA player which I got and didn't like too much and the battery ran out withing 6 months. Plus, the menus were REALLY slow. The sound is great and gets pretty loud. It also has great equalizer settings. Videos and pictures play magnificently on the 320x240 pixel screen. I forget the actual size, but it does look very impressive. At first, I could not connect to my Mac, but I soon found a program the does its job very well called XNJB. I have heard of several complaints of a WSOD (White screen of death), but I haven't experienced anything of the sort.

So far, I love it. It hasn't crashed or anything like that. The battery is amazing (about a day for music; don't watch enough videos to know about that lifespan). And it all only costs $70 refurbished (about $100 new), which is just as good as the original. Definitely recommended to anyone who is starting to use MP3 players.

I've had a 30gb Creative Zen Vision M for about two years now, and it has performed flawlessly. I wouldn't trade it for any of the overpriced, and overrated Ipods.

I used to have a Creative Zen Nano 512MB that I sold on eBay (nothing wrong with it) after I got an iPod Nano for Christmas. They are awesome. I would have kept mine if I didn't have both.

BTW, my iPod is a little faster than the Creatives, but I didn't want to spend all the money when I bought the Zen Nano about 3 years ago. :)

I has the same Sansa, and now have a Zen as well. I love it.
