Walgreens Informative - Walgreens Does Make Mistakes, Indeed - Wrong Medicine

Wrong Medicine
Review by inthespirit on 2009-02-15
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA -- The Walgreen's near me was so bad I called the regional office and asked to speak to the Manager. I dared him to have his medicine sent to it and be pushed around in a sea of yelling customers. He said no, but some months later the drugstore was 'remodeled'. That was good.

However, you must check your medicine. I watch people never opening the bag, never counting their pills, behaving as if they're buying a bag of Doritos. I got the wrong medicine and gratefully my brother looked at it before handing it to me, I was sick in bed. What the drugstore had sent me would have caused blindness if I had taken it, it was NOT FOR ME, but the bottle was put in a bag with my name and address on it.

ADVICE: LOOK AT YOUR BOTTLE(S), Check, look at the color of the pill, for god's sake. it's your health!!! I've been shorted a few pills and they replaced them, yet I got someone else's prescription. That makes me wonder if they took mine.

That should be with any drug store, not just walgreen's.. Always check your labels first. The process involves humans, so yes mitakes can bemade.

I believe the OP stated the script was put in a bag with his/her name on it. No mention of the script itself having his/her name on the label. I once looked into my bag after having several scripts filled and realized someone elses medication was in there along with mine. I take a drug daily that is generic. The shape changed and I called the pharmacist and she verified I had the correct drug only with another generic but told me to always be on the safe side and call if there was ever a question. Good reminder inthespirit for drugs from any pharmacy.

Some arthritis meds have a contra-indication of blindess. My mother took that one, but I don't remember the name.
