WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA -- Two years ago during a conversation with Verizon, my phone company, the representative thought it would be a GREAT idea for my business to start a web-site. With most people doing their search for help on the computer I thought this would be a wonderful place to be able to find those clients that needed help. For approx. $65.00 a month IDEARC would create and maintain my web-site...not a problem! Changes took over two weeks to be made and then in August of 2008 I had my final blow...our class schedule and description was sent to them...no changes..again I e-mailed it to them the first week of Sept...you guessed ..no work done..I had coordinated other advertisements and our local parks and recreation dept. to have everything in place..well..not IDEARC. In October I told them to cancel my contract. Up to January the same information for the spring was on our class schedule. It is now February 2009..still getting monthly bills.. yes..they have turned me over to two different collection agencies...I have sent letters..return/rec. and have been on more calls than I can count..including many times being on hold for over twenty minutes at a time...to no avail..now I have gone to the FTC and the FCC and the Attorney General. My web-site was finally shut down..but what a mess...many people thought I was out of business and here we are with no web-site...
My bill is over $500.00...I hope you consider this complaint when you are looking for a provider. Verizon has been a problem. No one wants to take responsibility for anything...what a way to do business. I am hoping to resolve this situation without having to go the counsel. Thank goodness I made copies every month of my web-site showing the changes never being made and I kept the e-mails back and forth from them for proof.
