ECost.com Complaint - Customer Service- Toilet Variety
Ordered an HP 24" LCD Monitor online, emailed them 5 minutes later telling them to cancel the order. Two days later, no email notification was received, so I called the customer support line. They told me that the only way to cancel was to use the email, which I did. They said that I will receive notification of the cancellation shortly. I emailed again, to make sure, and two days after this (4 days since ordering, 2 of which were weekend days) I received an email that the item was shipped, but this was a generic notification. I never received a reponse from customer service. I then called customer service, and they at first didn't believe that I emailed to cancel, but after supplying the times and dates of my email they quickly changed tone. They said I would be responsible for return shipping, and I cited my email once again, and said that I should not be responsible for the charges. The service agent then muttered incomprehensibly and told me to call back when I received the order. I did this, and when I reached customer service they had no recollection of my prior calls, my emails, and told me I needed to pay return shipping costs. After I told them of my emails once again, they said that my purchase was not returnable because it was no longer in their inventory. At this point, I hung up and sold the item on Craigslist, in the end I only lost $50. Obviously, customer service never emailed me back, but they did leave a voicemail the next day saying that my item was not returnable, haha.
The customer service department responded to my post on resellerratings.com as well, which I found additionally humorous.
