NCO Financial Systems Complaint - Harassment and Badgering
ST. LOUIS -- My husband and I have started getting calls from NCO Financial for a debt incurred by our grown son. The debt is originally owed to a local hospital for an ER trip. Although our son had insurance, the hospital did not copy down the information correctly and then tried to bill my insurance from records they had on file from when he was our dependent (information was over 7 years old!). I did receive a bill from the hospital over a year ago and I wrote and informed them that this was not our bill (our son is in his late 20s)and they should contact him. According to my son, they have never even tried to contact him but turned the bill over to NCO. The past 2 weeks they have called my home every day. My husband took the calls and was, 1) yelled at, 2) lied to, 3) when he asked to speak to a supervisor, hung up on, 4) he told them that the bill they were trying to collect was not my bill (they only have my name and not his - I guess because I was listed as emergency contact at hospital) and to never, ever call again. So I come in today and find a call made to my work phone from the same company. This was never our bill and I am disgusted at both the hospital and the collection company for the treatment we are receiving.
I am contacting the FCC and sending a cease and desist order today. I hope this company goes out of business. They are a nuisance and a disgrace to the legitimate collections industry.
