SANDY SPRINGS, GEORGIA -- I have been a faithful Costco customer for the last 18 years. I shopped at the Costco in Sandy Springs on Ashforde Dunwoody Road for the very last time today. Over the last 6 months I have noticed that the cashiers have become rude, surly and argumentative for no other reason than their own enjoyment, today I witnessed an elderly man insulted and ridiculed for asking the cashier to find a box for his purchases. This gentleman was told that she was much too busy and that he "would be needed to find his own box". Another customer in line came to the aid of this poor gentleman only to be ostracized by the cashier for "holding things ups".When it was my turn in line (I knew better than to ask for a box) the cashier had gained an assistant who was helping her load carts and having a very animated conversation about plans after work, she failed to give me my Costco card back, when I asked if she had my card I received a glare and she literally threw the card at me. The entire experience was surreal, I could not wait to leave the store, my hands were shaking as I got to my car.
I have never experienced such a display of total disrespect, for a moment I thought a TV camera would come into view and I would find myself on some type of Dateline Rudeness show. The good news is my membership at Costco is up in March!
