QVC, Inc. Complaint - Terrible Return Policy
I purchased a Dell Computer in December 2008. I set it up with four payments deducted from my bank account each month.
I received the laptop; it was defective. I returned the item on January 29, using the QLabel that is provided by QVC through their website. This is where the nightmare began: The label specifies that you have to ship through USPS. I took the item to USPS. USPS will NOT provide a note or copy of a piece of paper indicating you left the item with them. USPS does not even scan the item that it is in THEIR possession until UPS...yes, UPS picks it up to deliver to QVC. Why would UPS pick up an item from USPS and deliver it to QVC? Wouldn't it make more sense to just take the item to UPS and have them deliver it that way? Anyway, the problem is that the numbers on the label are NOT USPS numbers. Consequently you have no way of tracking the item. They're not even UPS's numbers! That laptop literally sat at the post office for TWO WEEKS before UPS picked it up. According to the supervisor at the Post Office, USPS doesn't even "Scan" it until UPS picks it up. So that means it just sat there in a bin in the back of the Post Office with no record of it being there but my word and perhaps a couple witnesses.
Nice way to handle a $2,000 item. Anyone could escond with it, and you'd never know. FINALLY UPS picked it up two weeks later.
FINALLY QVC tracked it (of course, the day they received it...not when it was in transition from California to South Carolina.)
And FINALLY, 25 days later, QVC is "processing" my refund....BUT, drum roll, QVC wrote me a note saying if my credit of $900 does not show up WITHIN TWO MONTHS on my bank statements, THEN I can call or notify QVC and they'll look into it. Yes! They actually had the gall to tell me NOT TO CALL OR NOTIFY THEM FOR TWO MONTHS!!
By that time, it would be THREE MONTHS TO GET A REFUND. Believe me, I'm NOT waiting two months if it doesn't show up IMMEDIATELY. I can get a COURT DATE quicker.
I'm D-O-N-E with these jokers.
