ATWATER, CALIFORNIA -- Progressive Insurance was charging me twice as much as other companies charge for the same coverage with no service perks for over 5 years. I was alerted to it by friends and relatives who were discussing purchasing insurance for new vehicles. Some were new drivers, some had tickets. I am an experienced driver, newer family car with a clean record. Yet, progressive saw fit to charge me double what they were charging them and had been slowly increasing my premiums for years with no explanation. When I questioned them, there response was "oh well. Too bad you don't like it. You can go elsewhere." And I did.
I now pay half as much for the same coverage and I have free roadside assistance.
