Delta Airlines Complaint - Flight From Hell
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA -- THIS IS THE REPLY TO PRICELINE ASKING HOW OUR RECENT TRIP/CRUISE TO THE CARIBBEAN WAS:
Thank you for asking about our stay in Fort Lauderdale which was nice and pleasant. Since you also promote airline flights let me tell you about our AC flight #194 from Vancouver to Montreal on January 28th, and our return flight on February 17th on Delta Air Lines from Fort Lauderdale to Salt Lake City on flight #1821.
Those were not pleasant experiences due to a couple of screaming/yelling children disrupting a plane full of passengers while the parents were unable or unwilling to exert any control over their kids who kept yelling at the top of their lungs.
A young, obnoxious Air Canada flight attendant took me to task for being annoyed at putting up with the non-stop ear-splitting raucous the child emitted for nearly 45 minutes prior to departure. We were thoroughly exasperated by take-off time. This flight attendant told me that: “if I was not satisfied to take a private jet next time”! This steward who was extremely rude and in my face wouldn’t give me his name after my asking him 5 times; so I took his picture.
What is going on in the industry? Are we at the point where we are inviting negligent parents to travel with children they can’t control, and who are being given the run of the plane while most courteous flight attendants don’t even have the authority to remind parents to look after their children responsibly? And what about the weary travellers who use the airlines for expediency purposes and who look forward to rest & relaxation or peace & quietness on their flight?
Think of the logic of this situation. One child disrupts a plane full of people and no one can say or do anything about it??? And neither can those courteous flight attendants who looked so frustrated at having to do their job skirting around children running amok in the aisle, yelling and screaming? A mature flight attendant told us on our return flight from Fort Lauderdale to Salt Lake City, where we encountered a similar situation, that: “it was the flight from hell” and yet he was unable to do anything about those screaming children. Does that make sense?
On the other hand we observed some very nice well-behave youngsters who were a delight to have as seating companions, so no one should assume that we are anti-children but we are definitely against irresponsible parents.
We hope that the powers that be or the public at large will sit up and take notice of these unacceptable policies. We hope that some adaptive regulations will be introduced as soon as possible to redress the situation not only because we plan on travelling extensively in the coming years, but also for the enjoyment of everyone concerned.

PLEASE, PLEASE, ADVISE PARENTS OF YOUNG CHILDREN TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND MORE CONSIDERATE FOR OLDER PEOPLE.
